Update 4.16.21. My friends blow me away with their generosity! We blew our original goal out of the water, so I'm going to try to double it (!!) and see how far we can get. Let's try for $3k... a dollar raised for every young person who will be homeless in Cbus this year.
Hi guys! The HuckHouse Sleep Out is here! Once again, I’m packing up the kid and attempting to parent in full view of my neighbors for a whole evening. This is always anxiety-inducing… err… I mean… exciting! It’s a great cause, every penny helps keep kids out of homelessness (DYK 3,000 young people will experience homelessness in Columbus in 2021?!). And it’s a decent excuse to air out the family after a socially distanced winter.
Last year we raised $1k, I’m really hoping we can up the ante this year and go for a full $1,500. Please give what you can [and consider joining me in sleeping out under the stars]! Keep an eye on my Facebook feed on April 16th, too, for a chance to win a custom cake!

3,000 young people ages 14 to 24 will experience homelessness in Columbus in 2021.
Another 4,000 will be at risk of homelessness, unsure of where they will sleep on any given night.
At Huckleberry House, a brighter future starts at our front door.
From the 96 new apartments opened since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to the 4,618 nights of shelter provided in our crisis shelter last year, we are meeting the needs of homeless and unstably housed youth ages 12 to 24. With a 90% success rate in our Transitional Living Program, we are addressing the long-term self-sufficiency of young people and keeping them out of the adult homeless system. Proceeds of the SLEEP OUT! benefit the proven programs of Huckleberry House.
